Wow! What a great year we had in 2011! We had the honor of hosting 25 hunter and they put 26 elk in the freezer.
The highlight of my year was taking my 12 year old daughter on her first elk hunt. She took a beautiful 5×5 bull at 200 yards. For the 7th year in a row we hosted the annual Burris/Steiner Optics elk hunt. For the second year Robert Arrington of Respect Outdoors came along to video the elk hunts. We were able to capture 5 harvests on camera in the 5 days of hunting. Be watching the Sportsman’s Channel in February for our elks hunt with Burris and Steiner Optics.

Our second group this year enjoyed their 3rdannual LaRue Tactical elk hunt. Mark LaRue invited two outdoor writers, Todd Hodnett with Accuracy 1st and some Marines. One of our marine snipers, John, had lost both legs in Afghanistan. It was a pleasure to help John take a nice bull and cow on his first elk hunt. Thanks to all our service men and women who make sacrifices for our freedom.
Trout Creek Elk Hunts is based on the Knott ranch and adjacent Step Rock Ranch (3,200 deeded acres and an intermingled 4,600 BLM acres) nestled in Trout Creek Valley, just south of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

We do our own outfitting and guiding, you won’t be hunting with seasonal hired hands here. Our hunts are not just about shooting elk, it’s about the entire experience.
